Default Why hate fourteen year olds?

When that other thread about middle-aged people started I kinda just thought what the heck? Why not

Whenever someone goes around cursing everyone just calls him a thirteen year - old. I myself am 14 but whenever I hear some a**hole and I pm him saying " Now I understand why people like 17 and older guilds" he usually says he's 18-22. Sure the younger we are the stupider but it doesn't necessarily mean ruder. The way people here talk about kids thirteen and younger you'd think we were trying to make your lives miserable.

What's with this phobia of young teenagers?

There's always exceptions, however from my limited experience people in the 13-18 range tend to think they're always right and their line of thinking is the only right one. They're very confident in their own opinions and while self esteem is good sometimes it causes problems.

Just an observation though. Take it with a grain of salt.

I think (the age range Lasareth said) they think they're "the shiz" haha.. to say it in a way.. They are pretty bratty and immature. It's hard to really categorize all people in that age range to that kind of personality but the majority tend to be that way..

It's a general stereotype, that 14 year olds are immature, call people noobs when they suck themselves, and stuff. Not all of them are like that, but it's a few that gave this bad impression that we know today

I have a feeling that there are more and more rude kids in the world.

Well, at least more than there used to.

And yes, I can honestly say I wasn't like them.

I'm just sick of jackass kids with no manners who think they are kings of the world and know everything.

Oh, and they're also leading the world in dumbing down the English language.

They're, their and there are different!
Threw does not equal through!
You're and your are not the same!

You sound like it :P

All I was thinking of as I was reading you're (lol) post was some old grampa saying "Back in my day..."

I've known some mature 13 year olds in video games but then again it seems like the majority are not. We were all the same (except onarik apparently) at one point so I just try to ignore it.

Some 14 year olds, not all are rude and mean. They sometimes don't know what to say and somtimes say the wrong thing. Then wish they could put words back in their mouth. Although some 14 year olds are much MUCH more mature than older people.

some are decent and some of them are just plain evil.
some are mature some are immature.
sometimes you've gotta agree on this - because its something you will agree on with 14-year olds
mind you, this "lolz stupid kid what are you 12" stuff sometimes gets outa hand on gws...specially if you do nothing wrong.

Personally I think Im less mature at the age of 20 than I was at the age of 14. At any rate its a stereotype that young teens and pre-teens are jackasses, but for the most part when you deal with them ingame, its true.

The people that use these stereotypes are no different than the people who caused the stereotype. You're both idiots.

As you get older, (most) people get these things called "wisdom", "maturity", and "humbleness." The early teen stage lacks most of this, and thats what makes it difficult. There are exceptions, however.

I'm 15 but some people in my alliance thought I was 30 based on the way I type. The fact I type out stuff like "you" and don't go around saying "ZOMGBBQPWNED! KTHNXBAI, NOOB!" kinda helps with that.

It's just the outspoken ones that ruin it for the rest of us.

But there are so many of them...

I'll never understand why butchering the English language is "cool".

Oh, by the way, I'm 21.

I think immature can fall into any age group. There are always exceptions; not every 13 year old is immature, not every old person is a creepy person with no life playing games. Immature and creepy people come from every age group.

I wish the people that ruined it for all us younger people didn't play Guildwars/Stuff it up for us >.> puts US at a disadvantage for so many things in Guildwars.

Not being able to join a PvP guild because you must be 17+ because we will spam ventrilo apparently >.>

Not being able to join a guild because we will be idiots in the guild/alliance chat, and get they're "really really good guild" kicked out of the alliance and the leader is 12.

And stuff like that.

That reminded me of all the +18 guild I've been in, and thankfully they've never discover that I wasn't even 17. The only problem was getting on TS / Vent, but I used to tell them that my voice was like that because I was sick .
